CPNL and RVO open new application round on Feb. 18

Entrepreneurs and researchers who recycle specific types of plastics from specific applications and the further development of recycling technologies (chemical, mechanical and dissolution) can apply. Grants can also be applied for research that focuses on the beginning of the recycling chain. Think of automatic sorting of large plastic articles. And for research on analytical techniques that sort (inline) during a production process.

As an entrepreneur or researcher, you can receive funding for a research project or showcase.

Circular Plastics NL - Research Projects:
  • Microplastics
  • Development of in-line analysis techniques for the purpose of sorting processes
  • Automatic sorting of the waste stream of large plastic items
  • The optimal chain for mixed plastic waste streams for recycling.
Circular Plastics NL - Showcases:
  • Mechanical recycling of polyolefin packaging
  • Recycling of polyolefin food contact packaging
  • Recycling of household or industrial plastic waste by dissolution
  • Depolymerization
  • Recycling of engineering plastics
  • Recycling of soft PVC
  • Carpet Recycling
  • Thermochemical recycling of mixed plastic waste streams into new monomers for plastic production
Total budget: €35,500,000
Application period: Tuesday, February 18, 2025 to Tuesday, May 20, 2025 5:00 p.m.

Project idea review and tips for preparing project plan

At a meeting on March 17, entrepreneurs and researchers can test whether their project idea qualifies for the call, and a presentation will be given on how to create a project plan, with tips, tricks and practical tools for preparing that plan. To apply for funding, entrepreneurs and researchers must submit their project proposals through the RVO. Be sure to read the guidelines carefully and check that your project falls within the eligible categories before submitting your application.
