Appointment of CPNL board member: Ton van der Giessen succeeds Just Jansz

Circular Plastics NL Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Ton van der Giessen as a new board member to succeed Dr. ir. Just Jansz. Together with board chairman Prof.dr. Bert van der Zwaan, Dr.ir. Just Jansz takes his leave after successful completion of the first phase of the National Growth Fund Program. The appointment of the new chairman of the board was announced on November 22.

The appointment of Ton van der Giessen, along with incumbent board member Esther van den Beuken and chairman Ton Geurts, complements the board as of Jan. 1, ensuring the progress of the program's growth through their extensive knowledge and experience.

Esther van den Beuken, who retains her role as board member, warmly welcomes the new board members: "We warmly welcome Ton Geurts and Ton van der Giessen to our board. Their joining ensures the progress of our organization and enables us to work with determination on the further development of our foundation."

Ton van der Giessen, on his appointment to the board: "The circularity of plastics is still in the midst of its adolescent phase. Many steps still need to be taken by government and industry to achieve the set goals. Result-oriented cooperation is crucial here."

Ton van der Giessen has more than 40 years of experience in the waste collection and recycling sector. In the past 13 years, he served as CEO of Van Werven Plastic Recycling with multiple branches in Europe. He was also chairman of the trade association for recycling companies in the Netherlands for 11 years, board member of PCEP in Brussels and member of the Transition Team Plastics. He currently holds several positions as commissioner/supervisor, chairman and board member in organizations and companies active in the circular economy.
